Melissa Wade-Cutler… is a native of North Carolina, where she was born and raised. She is the wife of Darryl and the mother of two beautiful children, daughter Darius and son Matthew. She attended the University of Carolina in Chapel Hill where she received her B.A. in Communications. She began her radio career at WFXC in 1991 where she was a Morning Show sidekick and news personality. She has also worked with WQOK in Raleigh and WAMO in Pittsburgh, PA as a morning show co-host.
Currently you can hear Melissa Monday – Friday from 6am – 10am as the Producer of “Get Up Mornings With Erica” and 10am- 12noon on The Light 103.9, where she is widely known as Melissa “Wade in the Water.” Her love for people can be heard every day through keeping them informed of what’s going on in the world, in their city and in their community. You can often find Melissa out in the community speaking at different events or even walking for some of her favorite causes.
Melissa also has a love for the stage and has performed in various plays, and musicals such as: “The First Lady” March 2014 written by Lawrence Floyd, starred in “Not in this House.” by Schelle Percelle, “Blues” and others. Melissa has also directed plays by others: “Church Folks,” “Lord Who Am I” and Soul 2 Soul.” Melissa also has directed her own stage plays under her business umbrella “Wade In The Water, LLC.” Her works include “Sunday Morning,” “Wednesday Night Prayer Service,” “The Trial of Jesus,” and “Did You Crucify Jesus:” The Play. She has directed other’s production such as: “Lord Who Am I and “Church Folks” for “Dream Cast Productions” and “Soul 2 Soul” for Victorious Praise Fellowship.” She has also stage managed the “Paneh Mime Conference” from 2009- 2016,” co-directed “Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child”, and directed, “Butterfly Wings.” Melissa currently serves on the Board of Directors for the NC Theater and is a featured writer for TCP Magazine in Raleigh, NC. Melissa is an Elder at Praise and Deliverance KCI in Bahama, NC, where she oversees the Arts department which includes: dance, step, mime and drama department.
